To make this smoothie we used organic cacao powder and cacao nibs. Both are made from cacao beans, are raw and do not contain any additives. You get food in its most natural state, directly from mother Earth. Not to mention a taste of chocolate that is guilt-free.

Medjool dates do not only add sweetness and fibre but also are rich in iron, potassium and dietary fibre. Particularly beneficial for people with low hemoglobin levels, mainly women. And do not forget health benefiting flavonoid polyphenolic antioxidants known as tannins. Tannins are known to possess anti-infective, anti-inflammatory, and anti-hemorrhagic (prevent easy bleeding tendencies) properties.

Ingredients

1 cup milk of choice (almond), unsweetened
3 tbsp peanut butter
2 tbsp cacao powder
1 tbsp flax seeds, ground
3 Medjool dates, pitted
1/3 cup quick or rolled oats
1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp cacao nibs (optional)

Directions

In a blender, combine all ingredients and process for 2-3 minutes or until smooth. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 1 day.
